Baked Pork Chops on Rice

rice
2 pork chops 1-inch thick or less
1 cup rice
1 can beef consommé
cup onion coarsely chopped
teaspoon salt
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Salt and pepper the pork chops.
  3. Sear the chops in a hot pan in just enough vegetable oil to keep them from sticking.
  4. Place the remaining ingredients in a baking dish, and top with the pork chops.
  5. Cover and cook in oven for 1 hour.
